A storm from Florida recently traveled up through Charlottesville. The immense amount of rain caused numerous power outages and terrible walking conditions for students going to class. Walking in the pouring rain was a deterrent for many students attending class. In my Thursday noon class, for example, the usual 100-person lecture hall literally had about 30 students in it. With the skies finally clearing up, it looks like it will be a great weekend for sports. The men’s soccer team has a game against UNC tonight at 7 (Klockner Stadium) and the football team will play Florida State tomorrow at noon. Everybody needs to get out and support our sports’ teams while the weather allows it. It’s supposed to start raining again on Monday : (
